Lowering Overhead with Technology
Part 1: Phones
A major overhead cost for many companies is telecommunication. Whether it is land lines or now-a-days cell phones, they all can be costly. But there are ways you and your business might be able to save.
Land Lines
Most people still need a land line phone. The options for land lines have changed over the last several years. One very significant change in land line phones is Voice Over IP (VoIP). In simple terms, VoIP sends your phone signal through your Internet connection instead of through a conventional phone line. VoIP packages provide some of the most competitive rates available. Unfortunately VoIP is not right for everyone, because there are some requirements such as having a quality broadband Internet connection.
There are many different VoIP providers and they all have different plans. At Onsite we have been leveraging the benefit of VoIP for over 4 years. We use a company called Vonage since their technology and plans fit us best. They have residential plans starting at just $24.99 and business plans starting at $39.99 and $49.99. And right now if a friend refers you to Vonage you can get TWO FREE MONTHS. Just go to the following link www.Vonage .com/friend and type in our main phone number 856-626-3349 and you'll get two free months for just signing up as a referral.
Cell Phones
Cell phones can be very expensive, but today it is almost a requirement to own a cell phone. Sure you can switch carriers in an effort to get better prices, but for the most part the different cell phone carriers have similar plans and pricing.
The best way to cut cell phone cost is to examine your cell phone bills for the last six months. You may find that you are using significantly less minutes then your plan allots. If that is the case you can call up your cell phone provider and ask to have your plan lowered, which can save you every month. Also, if you are into texting, make sure you are not paying for individual text messages, all carriers have plans with bundled text messaging options.
